Your Bosch Tassimo coffee machine should be cleaned and descaled on a regular basis to stop the build-up of limescale residue and calcium deposits. The Tassimo machines have an auto cleaning programme that makes the process quick and easy. Instructions below:

 

Running the Tassimo cleaning programme:

Tassimo recommend running the cleaning programme every seven days but this obviously depends on usage. If you haven’t used you machine in a while its worth running this programme before you start using the machine again.

  • First remove the water tank and clean thoroughly under running water and fill it up to the max mark with cold water.
  • Remove the Service T Disc that is located in a compartment behind the water tank before replacing the tank onto the machine.
  • Place the Service disc on the holder with the barcode facing down. Making sure that the flap of the T Disc is centred in the slot in the front before closing the unit.
  • Place a jug or large cup on the cup stand. (at least 200ml capacity)
  • Switch the machine on and press the Start/Stop button to start the automatic cleaning programme.
  • When the programme is complete, empty the cup repeat the cycle if needed.
  • Remove Service T Disc and store in its compartment ready for next use.
  • If you regularly use T Disc’s containing milk or cocoa, it’s recommend you clean the
    brewing unit more frequently.

Replacement service disc are available from Amazon if yours is lost or damaged.

Running the Tassimo descaling programme:

What is the red flashing red light on my coffee machine? – When descaling is needed, the machine indicates this by activating the “Descale required” light on the front of the Tassimo machine. You will need Tassimo descaling tablets and a little bit of time.

Tassimo descale tablets

  • First remove the water tank and fill to the descaling mark with cold water.
  • Add 2 descaling tablets to the water and leave until they dissolve and the water becomes clear again.
  • Remove the Service T Disc that is located in a compartment behind the water tank before replacing the tank onto the machine.
  • Place the Service disc on the holder with the barcode facing down. Making sure that the flap of the T Disc is centred in the slot in the front before closing the unit.
  • Place a jug or large cup on the cup stand. (at least 500ml capacity)
  • Switch the machine on and press the Start/Stop button for 5 seconds to start the automatic descaling programme.
  • The “Status” light and the “Descale required” lights will flash when the programme has started.
  • The descaling programme runs in intervals so will stop and start. The lights will stop flashing when the process is complete.
  • When the programme is complete, empty the cup and return it to the cup holder.
  • Rinse the water tank thoroughly and run the cleaning programme as above 4 more times to ensure no residue is left in the machine.
  • Fill the water tank with fresh cold water and replace it onto the machine. Your Tassimo coffee machine is now ready to use.
